August  2024:

MHS

Milton High School will continue with our one-to-one Chromebook initiative (1:1) for all ninth and tenth grade students next year (2024-25).  In adopting this model, all ninth and tenth grade students will receive a school-issued Chromebook that they will take to and from school on a daily basis. Students are expected to bring their fully charged Chromebook to school every day and bring their Chromebooks to all classes. Ninth and tenth grade students will not be allowed to bring their own device to school.  Incoming ninth grade students and new tenth grade students will receive their Chromebook the first day of school in advisory.  All ninth and tenth grade students are required to fill out the Chromebook Loan Agreement in PowerSchool under the Back to School Forms.  Below are additional resources for your review:

Eleventh and twelfth grade students can borrow a Chromebook for the 2024-25 school year if they are unable to bring their own device (other than a smartphone).  Upper class students who need to borrow a Chromebook for the school year will go to the MHS library on the first day of school to sign out a Chromebook.  All eleventh and twelfth grade students loaning an MHS Chromebook are required to fill out the Chromebook Loan Agreement in PowerSchool under the Back to School Forms. The back to school forms will be sent in August.

Pierce

In an effort to continue to sustain the life of the Pierce Chromebooks, students will not be allowed to take their Chromebook home with them during the 2024-25 school year.  If your rising 6th grader does not have a device at home that your student will be able to use to complete homework assignments, please complete this short Google Form to declare that your family will need to sign out a Chromebook for the 2024-25 school year.  The Chromebook will remain at home for the entire year and will not be brought back and forth to school.  The Chromebook will be returned to Pierce at the end of the student’s 8th grade year, when your family no longer needs the device at home, or your student withdraws from Pierce.

Once again, only complete this Google Form if your rising 6th grade family does not have a device at home that your student can use to complete homework assignments.  Families who declare their need for a Chromebook at home will have the Chromebook delivered to the student on Wednesday, August 28th or Thursday, August 29th.  Thank you for your help with this initiative.

All families are required to fill out the Chromebook Loan Agreement in PPowerSchool under the Back to School Forms.  The back to school forms will be sent in August.

Elementary

All elementary students will be assigned a Chromebook for the 2024-25 school year.  Elementary Chromebooks are stored in the classroom unless a teacher requires their students to complete an assignment at home, or we have to switch to hybrid/remote learning.  All families are required to fill out the Chromebook Loan Agreement in PowerSchool under the Back to School Forms. The back to school forms will be sent in August.

Optional Chromebook insurance will be offered to all students loaning a Chromebook.  It is highly encouraged to purchase insurance for their school-issued Chromebook.  Insurance costs $30 per student per year.   If insurance is declined, students are held responsible for damage beyond reasonable wear and tear as outlined in the Loan Agreement.  Chromebook insurance for the 2023-24 school year can be purchased HERE.
